I wouldn't pick a maltese, because clearly the media will be all over this dog. They will be seeing if Obama's really letting the girls help out alot in the care of the dog. A maltese is pretty high maintence when it comes to brushing...I would pick a small to medium short-haired dog that the girls could carry around and pamper. But not a "fu-fu" dog if you know what I mean. So my picks would be:
