Can I tell if my cat has a fever by how hot his ears feel?

Answer:

A cat's ears *can* feel hot if it has a fever, but it can also have a fever and *not* have hot ears, OR, it can have hot ears but no fever. If I have thoroughly confused you - good. The only accurate way to tell if a cat (or anyone for that matter) has a fever is to take it's temperature.
