These are JD’s and Benny’s snakes Babies for this year. I shall be keeping updates on their status i.e. if any have been re-homed. Unfortunately snake babies (and snakes in general) are very difficult to sex since males and females have very few differences between them. I have not yet learnt to pop or probe them so I can only determine their gender using inaccurate methods such as looking at the tail. A males tail tapers after the vent but is longer than the females. Although this is very inaccurate, it’s still fun to guess! :P
The morphs are: 3x Anerythristic (Black snakes)
9x Amelanistic (Orange snakes)
2xSnow (Pink Snakes)
12xNormal (Brown Snakes)
#01 (Presumed female) Re-homed
Shadow – Named by Skinny
The most enthusiastic feeder and was the first snake to show bravery towards humans, though she is still not too keen on being handled.
#02
Snow White – Named by Skinny
One of the most timid babies out of the July hatchlings but wouldn’t say no to food. She, until recently would shake her tail and very rarely strike out. Nowadays she’s much better behaved but still not too keen on humans
#03
Jet – Named by Me (Name changed from Blaze)
One of my faves, she’s occasionally at the front of the tank trying to escape and takes well to being handled, she also loved her food. :P
#04
Aggy – Named by Me
Aggy is a sweet snake and is now very confident. Always one of the babies trying to escape, she also takes well to handling though isn’t completely tame yet #05 Moca – Named by Skinny One of the lads that’s always in sight and is fine with being handled, a very calm and friendly snake.
#05
Moca - Named by Skinny
One of the lads thats always in sight and is fine with being handled, a very calm and very friendly snake. :)
#06
Zack - Named by Bella Boo
Another one of the adventurous snakes, enjoys exploring and trying to escape. He is a little wary of my hand but allows me to pick him up with no problem. He used to be an extremely fussy snake when it came to food but these days he has learnt what food is and eats well
#07 (Presumed Male) Re-homed
Tang - Named by Kiki
One of the snakes that spends most of the time hiding, he is still yet to show his true colours but with a little bit of gentle handling he will soon learn to relax around humans.
#08 (Presumed Male)
Lenny – Named by Ronnie
A similar personality to Tang, he still needs a little time to come out of his shell.
#09 Re-homed
Brain – Named by Penny The most adventurous and tame snake out of the lot, Brain constantly looks for ways to escape and when being handled seems oblivious to the fact that he’s being held by a human. Very lovely snake with a very outgoing personality
#10 Re-homed
Suzie Q – Named by RIP Belle
Used to be very shy but recently became much more outgoing, always at the front of the glass trying to escape and is happy to be let out of her enclosure.
#11
Bob – Named by Belle
A rather timid snake, but after watching the others come out of hiding to explore he doesn’t want to be left out, so he will follow another. It’s so cute to see snakes learning from each other! :3 Bob is now one the most outgoing snake though still needs taming.
#12 (Presumed Male)
Zizzler – Named by Zooie
His personality has really developed of the last few weeks, he’s starting to explore more often and is beginning to tolerate handling. I’m now having problems putting him to bed, he’d rather explore.
#13 (Presumed Female)
Magna – Named by Lizzie
Magna prefers to stay hidden though is not terribly afraid of humans, she prefers to do her exploration in the dead of night when all lights are out. Magna has sparked the most interest with potential new owners due to her slightly unusual body pattern, though she is yet to find a home.
#14
Sable – Named by Lloth
A very sweet snake, though id a little on the shy side. Sable enjoys staying hidden and still requires a little more taming.
#15 Re-homed
Flame – Named by Frosty
Used to be an extremely fussy eater, now Flame eats with the same enthusiasm as everybody else and is ready to find a new home. Flame has also recently became a very adventurous and curious character, always wanting out
#16 (Presumed Female)
Rufus – Named by Me Rufus has a very similar personality as Sable, she’d rather hide then be handled though she’s been seen attempting to escape.
#17 (Presumed Male)
Speedy – Named by Me
One of my favourites, like Brain, Speedy also enjoys exploring and has also gotten a lot of interest, currently two people have said they are interested in Speedy though they need to organise a snake set-up.
September Babies
#18
Striker - Named by Me
Striker has a fairly unusual head pattern which makes him easy to identify. He's still a little on the shy side but is an excellent feeder.
#19 Re-homed
Midnight - Named by Farful
This snake is one of the bravest of the September babies, always seen exploring and is calm when being handled though only tolerates handling for a few minutes.
#20
Tommy - Named by Eggy
Still yet to show his true colours, this snake prefers to hide for the most part.
#21
Tiny - Named by Me
The smallest of the runts, Tiny is the tinniest snake out of all of them. Even though Tiny is small small, she still has an excellent appitite though her food needs to be cut into managable portions.
#22
Zombie – Named by Me
Zombie was thought to be dead a month before the eggs were due to hatch because her egg would go mouldy, turned off colour and slightly hardened. After all her brothers and sisters hatched out I snipped Zombies egg to see if anything was alive inside and needed assistance, i could only see goo in the egg, no sign of a snake but i left the egg nontheless. 3 days later Zombie finally fully hatched seemingly resurrected from the dead.
#23
Sabbath - Named by Lloth
Another one of the bravest snakes, always exploring and will slither to the front of the tank when i open the door. He's fine with being handled for short periods but gets a little stressed out if handled for too long.
#24
Rose - Named by Boris and Snowy
One of the shyest of the September babies, she would much rather hide then come out and explore.
#25
Ted - Named by Me
The largest of the September babies, this snakes size is about the same as the July babies. This snake is more of a hider then an adventurere.
#26
Louis - Named by Balham
Another runt, this snake is currently refusing to eat but with some time and a little encouragement, she should soon start eating. A nervous snake and not yet used to being handled.
#27
Jo - Named by Me
Like Twiggy, Jo is named after the Radio station hosts of Trent FM (Nottinghams number one radio station) Jo and Twiggy the snakes look very similar to eachother though Jo has spots above her eyes and Twiggy does not. Jo is still a little on the shy side but comes across as a rather curious individual.
#28
Twiggy - Named by Me
Twiggy (also named becuase he is thin as a twig with him being a runt) has quite a strong personality despite his small size. He is often seen copying the other snakes, trying to climb the wire to the heat mat and will come to the front of it's enclosure and try to leave if the door is opened.
