We are currently fostering Holly. We've been fostering her since Feb.13. She was originally rescued from a chiken coop up in Pensacola. She went to a dog shelter, (which isn't good for greyhounds) and was adopted into a family. Since Holly was a adopted from a regular dog shelter, the new family was told nothing about greyhounds and how to care for them. Holly lived outside, in the blistering heat of Florida. She was fed raw meat without a raised feeder. Holly had a vet who didn't know anything. By the discription of this vet, I wonder if he even when to vet school? Anyway, we ended up with her, she was extremely skinny and was COVERED in fleas and ticks. Some mornings she doesn't want to eat or take her medicine. We think her teeth are playing a role in this, because they haven't had a proper teeth cleaning in a very long time! Holly also has arthritis (sp?) in her hind legs and she walks extrememly slow. But you what, that ok! She's lived a hard life and nows her time to just sit back and relax!

Update 3/18: Holly has refused to eat for the past 2 1/2 days. We called her vet and she came in and they fed her thru a tube. She going to get her teeth cleaned tommorow, hopefully she won't have a problem eating! Dr. C took an ultrasound so I'll be sure to post the results. I'll post all of Holly's updates as an accually update, so it's easier to read.

Update: Holly passed away to the bridge Monday, March 31.
