NOT MY WOLVES!!!!!! THEY ARE NOT PRIVATLY OWNED!!!
Wolf Conservation Trust
We're a non-profit organisation created to promote
wolf conservation through education.
Our nine wolves act as ambassadors, helping us to raise funds in support of projects across Europe. We attend shows during the summer half of the year and host various events throughout the year. We take the wolves to shows and events all over Britain. They went to Glasgow to promote a play and have attended the Royal County of Berkshire and Royal Bath and West Shows as well as smaller events such as the local Chapel Row Fayre that raises tens of thousands of pounds each year for charities such as Naomie House the children's hospice. Our goal is to get people educated on these amazing, beautiful animals, while helping the animals at the same time. We are aimed at helping to ensure the survival of European wolves in the wild.
The North American Pack
Kodiak, Duma & Dakota
Kodiak
Kodiak is 13 now, a grand old age for a wolf. He is a little stiff when he first gets up but that soon passes when he gets going. He is on medication to help to keep his joints flexible. He will not leave the concrete yard in front of his kennel until he has had his sausage containing his medication. He was recently moved from the bottom enclosure to the top as it is several degrees warmer there and it is felt that he deserves to be in the warmest enclosure as acknowledgement of his great age.
Duma
Like Dakota she is 9 years old as she is her full sister. Her looks have improved as she has matured and she is now a very charismatic wolf with a distinct look of Kenai about her.She was the boss of the two females. We called them the Spinster Pack because they behaved like two sisters that had always lived together, each subconsciously knowing what the other was thinking.
It remains to be seen what the effect on the two females will be now that Kodiak has moved in with them. So far it has been fine with the females seeming to revel in having a male presence
Dakota is the other ambassador wolf, going to schools etc. with her sister.
Dakota
Dakota is 9 years old. Apart from losing about six inches of her tail as a result of her problems with Lunca, from the front most think she is a very photogenic wolf. She is one of our main ambassadors, going to schools and on other visits to preach the word for wolf conservation. On photographic days she is famous for howling a wonderful song, allowing the photographers to get some really good shots. Dakota, her sister Duma along with Kodiak.
