To put a background on, you have to have the picture saved somewhere online that you can add it from, like Photobucket.com.  Some places like Geocities and Angelfire offer free websites, but you can't use the pictures on there for another site.  So if don't have a paid website account somewhere, Photobucket is your best bet.

Go to where the picture is saved online and copy the URL for the picture.  That is the thing that starts http...  (In photobucket, it's the code on the line that says Direct Link.)

Next go to Pikapet --> My Pikapet --> My Pikapet Home --> My Pets -->Change Colors and Background

Where it says Background Image URL  there is a box.  Paste in the URL for the background picture (http...whatever).  Then click on the submit button.

Some webservice providers like AOL gives you storage space online you can save pictures too, but if you don't know if you have this, then probably Photobucket.com is your best bet.  It's free to set up an account and you can store a lot of pictures there for use on your Pikapet pages and for comments and stuff.  That is what I use.
