Switching foods
I am ready to switch my dogs from puppy to adult foods and wanted to get a rough guesstimate on how long I should wean them so I know how much of the bag of puppy food should be left to mix in. Thanks guys |

I think your supposed to mix it slowly so their used to it.
So like if they eat 2 cups a day am and pm total
Day 1
use1 cup puppy-1/4 adult am and pm
and so one for day 1
Day 2
1 cup puppy -1/3 adult-Am and pm
Day 3
1 cup puppy - 1/2 cup adult
Day 4
1 cup puppy- 2/3 cup adult
Day 5
1 cup puppy- 3/4 adult
Day 6
1 cup Puppy-1 cup adult
now use the adult food and go down from 3/4 puppy til you get to 1/4 cup.
Day 7
1cup adult-3/4 puppy
and so on.
Then they should be comfy with adult food by day 12

They were supposed to wean meeeeeee?????? I ate the same brand puppy, adult, and now senior. When I was the right age and the puppy food ran out they just switched me to the adult food. I am part Labrador though. I have cast iron stomach. |

Im part lab also then rottweiler. Im have eaten the same brand too sometimes it was different cause mom didn't have enough to get my kind. But Most has been Purina one. That the only food that don't give me the runs.
The name on the bag is different then the adult dog food purina one cause its Sensitive systems but its still Purina One.
But that kind helps with digestion and doesn't make my tummy rumble. |

Thanks! Zoe has the lab stomach and none of us are picky eaters. If it can be chewed and swallowed it must be food! She just wants to avoid any yucky tummys :) And she's going to stay with the same brand as well, just a new formula for growing doggies! |

Thats just like Duke's! i had to find one that wouldn't make duke's tummy upset but a brand that he liked so thats why he eats Purina One Sensitive systems. |

I once ate and entire bag of dark chocolate Hershey's kisses and even that only made me feel a little blue. My human says I was a naughty girl for doing that, but I dun know why. It smelled and tasted gooooood. Only other thing was that my poop was sparkly for a week or so. It had purple foil in it. (I'm sure Peanut can appreciate that.)

I use beneful and my mom goes by the chart on the bag and adjust it depending on my weight gain or loss |
