Hey Kayuh, I think I could help you there :D Bettas er Siamese Fighting fish, w/e you want to call them have a very common misconception about them- Bettas aren't actually fond of small spaces. They love to be in a tank filled with MANY plants and hiding spots so they feel secure. (Not saying you were going to do this) but putting a betta into a little tank with some pebbles and a couple plastic plants is almost cruel.
My friend Kefin's bowl: http://www.pikapet.com/pet/view/6406 looks like a good betta home. You don't need a gigantic space (Only 5-10 gallons of water) for one betta fish, but you need alot of stuff in there. And yes it would be great if you had an air pump. So here's a lil checklist for you:
betta pellets (preferably sinking so they dont swallow air and get intestinal problems)
a 5-10 gallon bowl/tank
air pump
pebbles for bottom of tank
many live/fake plants, decorations, etc
old toothbrush/scruber for lightly cleaning the bowl every other week
net
I think that's about it :D Good luck with your new fishie! |
