PIT BULL CARNAGE CONTINUES IN LV AS 4 MO. OLD DIES
i HATE BSL.... BUT we are under attack !!! .... Las vegas suffered its 4th vicious attack of the summer involving pits-slash- mixes.
The latest (sept 12, 08) ended in a 4 month olds death and multiple injuries to the grandmother who was watching the baby. The 2 family pits were outside and for some reason burst through a screen door and immediately attacked the baby girl. The granny fought off the dogs and grabbed the baby and made it into another room only to have the pits break through the door and resume the attack. Police had to shoot the 3 dogs on site as they were ready to attack again.
On July 3rd 3 pit bulls (2 intact breeders and a 4 year old girls pet ) got into the neighbors yard through a hole in the fence. The neighbor got her kids into the house safely and called animal control who quickly dispatched two units with 3 officers to the site. Unfortunately the 2 man unit was involved in a collision and only one (female) officer arrived. She surveyed the sitch and decided to wait for back up. Good plan except the 3 dogs broke through a weak spot in the fence and attacked the officer (she is of yet able to return to duty). She was able to drag herself and them to her truck and get inside (probably saved her life with that move) The owner asked for the 3 dogs to be euthanized and was fined $6000.
On June 10th 3 pit bulls and a sharpei mix owned by an unregistered sex offender while running loose swarmed and severely mauled a door to door salesman. The owner only received a citation-fine but was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender. Neighbors reported that these dogs had been terrorizing the hood for months.
April 8th a pit and a boxer got out of their yard and immediately ran accross the street and mauled a 4 and 5 year old boys. The boys survived (thanks to their dad) but were left severely bitten on the face and legs.
Like I said .... I'm against BSL but somethings got to give here in Vegas. My neighborhood is frightening at times. Bad Owners galore, using the pit bull fear factor to enhance their big egos or maybe compensating for a "small wang". Just in the last 2 weeks 4 pitties without collars or tags have been running loose on our street.(animal control took them in)
I'm sorry that pitties are the overwhelming choice of gangstuhs, dog fighters, mental midgets, thugs, criminals, jilted women, guys with small "johnsons", social misfits etc. etc. etc. It's sad but true.... so what do we do ???
These 4 attacks involved NINE pitties... We need HELP !! |

Just for that we know that the dog was treated badly :(

Of course they were mistreated or lacked any training ... that's my point. It's not the pitties fault most likely but the attacks just keep happening over and over and over.... Although BSL isn't the answer something needs to change !
Hopefully where you live the majority of pittie owners are responsible, but here in Vegas (the high school drop out capital of the UNIVERSE) the majority of pittie owners use the dog to enhance their image or carry out an agenda . |
