Sebastian sadly passed away...
If you have read the most recent update made by us you will learn that Sebastian some how bumped his head causing serious head trauma, unfortunately it was more serious then what anyone had previously thought. He regretfully passed away earlier today, just simply faded out. It's unbearable to think how many pets have died recently, this is a complete tragedy and i am overwhelmed with tears. Why so young, he wasn't even 3 weeks old!
Peter is doing fine, Lucy seems to be acting as she usually does and does not seem to have even noticed she's missing a baby.
I can only pray that we have no more tragedies and unexpected loses. |

Omg... I hope you are okay. :'( That is pretty sad. Atleast he is in a place where he can't be hurt anymore.

Sorry to inform everyone of even more bad news but yesterday Chester had to undergo surgery at the vets. The vet first thought it was a case of paraphimosis but later determined that it was a penis prolapse, very embarrassing for him i'm sure. The vet had to clean it up and put it where it belongs, if the swelling has not gone down by today he will need it removed. This will not iterfere with his ability to urinate and he will still be able to live a normal life, hopefully the swelling has not persisted, we may be picking him up later today. At that time i shall ask him the cause of such an ailment. It really has been one thing after another lately, even Jack has some problems with the tip of his tail that i've just noticed the other day, he has been shedding a lot recently and it would seem that the tip has not shed successfully. I've been bathing him daily in response to this new problem. |

i know this is gonna be a job for you and your momma, but rabbits, chinchillas and rats seem to get this problem from time to time on certain individuals.. but its important that you be isolated on something soft and white so momma can see that you are urinating and wont continually make it worse by hitting the exposed penis on all sorts of objects.. here is a good page on the subject of home care.. just substitute chin for rabbit :) i know its embaressing but dont be.. we all just need a lil help with personal things now and then.. anyways, here is that page your momma should read, please keep us updated:) just scroll near the bottom where the information is

That was extremely helpful, thankyou for posting that link! I have been shedding an awful lot recently, perhaps thats the cause? The vet phoned today and suggested over grooming in that area. He said that he's never seen this condition before claiming that it's a rare occurance. He has informed us that he has operated today and the swelling has gone down. So far everything looks good though i may not be coming home until tomorrow. Something interesting to add aswell, my fur is changing colour, i'm developing more white on my legs, I suppose it's linked to shedding my winter coat for my summer coat. |

Luckily i'm still intact, I just needed cleaning up and stitches put into place to prevent it from prolapsing again, they're dissolvable stitches so won't need removing. The idea is that the stitches will hold everything in place, and by the time they have dissolved the swelling will have subsided and i'll be back to normal. My baby making days are well and truely over, there's no doubting that! |
