Ok my sister Dahlila just responded to this topic over in the DOG forum! Is it really necassary to post it in TWO forums?! If people dont wanna leave thats fine but if they do thats also fine! Can't we all just act like the mature animals that I know we all are?!

ETA: I've been on catster over 2 years and my posts rarely get replies but when the cats that have been there from day 1 or the newbies post everyone just flocks all around them! I'm not the only cat that this has happened to either! Catster isn't perfect either.

I'm proud to be on Pikapet and maybe they aren't what they used to be but they've still done better than what you could ever do.  Unlike you we like to give others second chances.

If we wanted to be on catster than we would.  Good for the ones who are.  You don't have to make our decisions for us, and if you think so, take your whiny hiney out and leave us on our own.

Naomi, is it really necessary to post two of these? My dog sisfur just posted in the dog forum not too long ago about this. I think if people wanted to leave to go to www.catster.com or www.dogster.com they would've done so already.  Pikapet might not be as fast as Dogster/Catster HQ but you still need to have some respect.  This site is full of wonderful people and I enjoy spending my time on both sites. They both have something different I like about them.  There shouldn't any competition over who is better. That is just childish behavior.

Ya, I don't know. I have been on catster and Pikapet and I think Pikapet is a bit better, I mean everybody is soo nice here. At Catster the "COOL" cats say bad stuff and they don't get in trouble, so I dunno. And pikapet is FREE! You have to pay $20 to actually get some cool things that the "POPULAR" cats have. But oh well. I am not making anyone else's decision.

Kiki, you don't have to have catster plus to put cool stuff since they give you one field you can put more than one code so it's like you actually have catster plus when it comes to putting codes up.  That's just a hint!  :)

Why can't people just stop comparing the sites and start enjoying them for what they are? Both of them have problems. Pikapet has a problem of fakes. Catster is a ghost town in the forums. I don't see how you could't get replies on Dogster, though. Dogs on Dogster post a lot more than dogs and cats on Pikapet... but, the Catster forums rarely get replies.

The sites shouldn't be compared as it's obvious that they're DIFFERENT sites!

i just got here, so i'm just beginning the inevitable compare/contrast with catster/dogster. i'm not sure what my final take will be, but at first glance? it's not quite like apples and oranges, but maybe more along the lines of cultured grapes and scuppernongs grown wild. same family,but one is tended and fussed over while the other makes its own way. of course the one which is tended more carefully has a smoother taste...but have you ever had scuppernong wine? it's excellent.

pikapet might be sacrificing some "smooth" by foregoing the same active moderation that goes on in the catster/dogster universe. then again, i've grown rather weary of having post after post bounced back at me by the catster moderators for the most mind-boggling reasons...and sometimes all they can say is that they got three "notifies" on it and since they moderate hundreds of posts in the forums a day, they haven't been able to take a look at it yet. three notifies from a member or one from a moderator automatically pulls the post. a friend of mine actually had her thead stopped cold (by the moderator) because the question had been addressed in other places. well, if it had been done to death people wouldn't have responded and the thead could have died a natural death. but that's me. i'm laissez faire on most issues, and i adore scuppernong wine.

don't get me wrong. some of the groups on catster can be incredible, and i've made some great friends. and there are some forum sites that are hilarious. but how carefully manicured do you want your virtual world...and if you, like me, want a little room to roam, you have to expect a bit of anarchy to pop up here and there.

not that i don't sympathize with pictures being stolen...but that's something that will be a problem until technology catches up with the issue. there are bright boys out there working on it...but there are also folks out there working just as hard to do things like write a computer program that decodes captchas. i wouldn't throw out the baby with the bathwater...again, that's me. and i'm new here.
