Is It OK?

For the owner of my dog and bird Im more and more concerned about Angel..I feed her scraps and I don't know if its really bad or just minor bad..Does anyone know? I don't want to have problems with Angel..She's a good dog but she eats grass..I know from that it means your dog or a dog is sick and it helps comfort It and make It feel better.so yeah, I really would like to know..and why does Angel run around like a "idiot" from time to time?? Just today when i was trying to take her inside, all she did was run around and i couldn't catch her..i was afraid she was gonna get loose and i wouldn't be able to catch her..So PLEASE answer..I really need to know thanks,
angel's beloved owner.

Shadow

"I feed her scraps and I don't know if its really bad or just minor bad"

To answer this question is difficult because you leave little information pertaining her diet. Shadow is fed raw, so food tidbits outside of training are a big 'no-no'. However Daisy is fed a high quality kibble with a bit of home-cooked, so typically I cook for us both. Depending on what type of 'scrap' you feed her, and how often are the key factors, and I presume this is not her only diet source, am I correct? When you factor in the proportions of her diet, snacks should only weigh in at about 10%-20% of her daily diet, more then this can lead to obesity. On this note, be careful what you pop into your pooches mouth, dogs and people have different food tolerances.

"why does Angel run around like a "idiot" from time to time?"

This behavior is what we here call, "zoomies". Why the happen I am not sure, all you can do is sit back and laugh, although a good solid recall can get her running your direction. If she is running from you, this is because she believes you are attempting to play with her, as you will commonly see two dogs at play acting in this nature, running the opposite direction often turns the tides of this game. Please remember not to let your dog out in an unenclosed area, as this could be potentially dangerous. Good luck!

Me has zoomied and I love to have zoomies especially with Cousin Suki. We Zoomie all over the house together and make lots of noise and act like idiots too!!! Mom and sissy laugh at us. JJ doesn't zoomie to much with us cause he is a fat boy. He should zoomie and he would probably lose weight!!

Great advice, Shadow!  I got the "Zoomies" twice since I have been at my new home.  Both times were when I bolted out the door when the humans were going in and out!  They could not catch me....I was running in BIG circles around them....way out of their reach.  They tried sitting, thinking I would come to them....BOL...NO!  They tried calling me and whistling....but NO!  Finally one of the humans ran around to the back of the house (trying to get me away from the street, I think) and when he got out of my sight, I ran to see what he was doing.  He started running toward the back door and...silly me....I fell for the trick and they got me trapped inside the house both times that way!  Maybe next time I will not fall for that trick!
