Stolen Pictures of Peoples Pet's.
Yes, i know of a few people that have a pikapet who have stolen pictures from someone. Someone actually did it to me. And no, i didn't like it one bit. But i didn't make a big deal out of it like you guys are doing. I told the Person to either take my puppy off their thing, or put, this dog is cute i wish it was mine as the caption and on the profile. She also has a picture of a horse in sunflowers and is saying it is hers. I'm not too worried about that because i have no idea who's animal it is. But it is wrong. Why do you do it? Why do you say it is yours? If you want an animal you should buy one, not steel the pictures and claim it as yours. And it's really immiture that you guys are giving people a hard time about it. I'm sure they are quite aware that they stole those pictures, you don't have to keep telling them. What you should be doing is informing Pikapet about it, not being mean to the person. It's just not right. I've goton messages with people assuming i stole the picture of Doobie only because i only have one picture. But he never looks clean, to take pictures of him. And i've also gotton messages with people assuming that Bertha is a stolen Picture, I didn't steel her picture. I just only have one because she died. And i'm really sick of seeing comments on people's pages like. "how many animals have you stolen now?" .. I'm sure most of you guys on pikapet are too. Some of you might get offended by this, and i'm really truly sorry. I'm just trying to get it to you guys that it's really not nice to be mean to people about it. Do you agree with me? Or Do you think i'm being mean? |

OH and i have another thing to add to that, but you cant edit it after it's posted. If you steel the picture, who cares? i mean yeah it's wrong and you can get in trouble, BUT IT'S STILL AN ANIMAL! This is an ANIMAL site.. Not a site for PEOPLE to be MEAN to OTHER PEOPLE. it's not even a place for ANIMALS to be MEAN to OTHER ANIMALS.. It's a place for ANIMALS to be NICE TO OTHER ANIMALS. so... like.. sorry if i'm being mean? |

Casey, I would not have a problem with people posting picture of other pets as long as they caption them properly. The problem has been that people are entering these pictures in the contests. That does not make it fair to the people that have actual pets entered, that have dressed their pet or got them to pose, and took the picture and went through the trouble of posting it and entering their pet. To me, entering a picture of a cute animal you found on the internet is cheating. Cheating does not make it fun for the people that are trying to play fair. Generally speaking it's the same people that are doing it over and over and over again. Yes, they know they are doing it, but they obviously see nothing wrong with it. I'm pretty much staying away from Pikapet now becaue of it. There are much more "fun" places on the interent for a pet and their people to hang out that doesn't involve a lot of immature people cheating in the contests. |

I agree with Tavi as well. If you are using pictures of "fake pets" why in the world would you enter them in a contest? You can never use your points to get anything because you have to prove the animal is real. So why take votes & points from the real animals whose humans took the time to take all the silly pictures that all the humans love to look at. Look at Funkygurl...she does not have the camera to do the pictures, but does she take them from the internet? No not at all. She participates actively in forums & is an animal lover indeed. She is not trying to pretend that she owns all these pets that don't exist. That's the way it should be. Mommy likes talking to all animal lovers out there whether they own pets or not. Just don't lie about it! Now can we all just get along? I miss some of my friends here & you know who you are. |

aww...Thank you Misty..I see no point pretending to own pets in the first place.If they are not my pets why pretend that they are?I mean what is it gonna get you anyways?Some points...what for points you wont be able to use them,just like Misty said you have to have proof they are your pets... |

Aww Snarff, Just forget about it. Those people are meanies and shouldn't be on pikapet. And yeah, i agree with you guys totally. Like, i mean.. It's still a pet, so you don't have to write a nasty comment that makes it look like you wanna kill them. <- That is, if it isn't your pet. Now yeah i could see if it was your pet that the people stole yeah.. i would leave them comments too. But not mean ones. I was just nicely ask them. The meaner you are with people, the longer they'll keep the pictures of the fake pet's on there. And yeah, it is stupid to have fake pictures of pets on here because you DO have to have proof. I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. :[ I'm just tired of seeing mean comments, it makes me wanna cry, because i wouldn't want to be in those peoples place, Getting really rude comments like the one's people have been posting on peoples profiles. And your right Suno Bear, Some people don't have any brains. <- I laughed whenever i saw that. I love all the pets on here, they make me laugh and they are ALL adorable.. Even the stolen ones. So instead of being mean about it, why not try and leave the person alone and just tell pikapet about it. It's all stupidness. Can't we all just drop the drama!? Ignore the fake pets.. and love the real pets.. That's how i look at it. But we all have different oppinions. |

I think if it were my pet, I wouldnt want someone else taking their picture, because that is not theirs to take, I would be highly offended, its just like someone taking a picture of your kid ... ya know? |

I don't want anyone to copy my pets pictures. And, some people can't assume that your pictures are stolen unless they know for a fact. Alot of them are obvious. I know that Doobie and Bertha are real pets because I have seen them in person, in fact Doobie is Cujo's daddy. This is a place to have fun so why make it a hassle to be here. If it keeps up most people aren't going to participate at this site, like Tavi said, what's the point of coming here, if all you do is get hassled about stuff. |

Fake pets in a contest is a big no no and if someone stole from our family it would be quite upsetting. Pikapet should be combed through every once in a while to keep the honest people prosperous |

i have never had this problem, and i think if i did, i would ignore it. Some people are silly. Let's have fun... If someone stole my dogs pic, i would be flattered. honestly the pic is nothing compared to the real thing. They are missing out. My dog is the greatest!! Pikapet should have a way to keep people from stealing pics. |

I love how people assume when you only have one pic your fake. Its not true, you can have one pic and still be real guys XD which is why I google the images first before I report the user. Snd before I report them, I ask them kindly to be honest with me and take the photo down, only 10% of the people I know do that. And it annoys me. Another thing that annoys me is the fact that people do own pets, but they are too "ugly". According to my opinion, there is no such thing as an ugly dog. And im sorry if everything has to be perfect for you. *not pointing this out to certain people XDDD* Oh yes, and the camera excuse.... "I dont have a camera" then buy one from walmart, the really cheap kinds. I have a disposible camera that I got for $10, im sure your mom or dad has that kind of money. If you arent allowed to buy one, then im sure your not allowed to steal pics :] "my camera broke" then fix it. Or see above ^^ "my photographs suck!" so? its better to be honest than to lie, its better to not steal than steal. Keep taking pictures, and you'll get more better at it. Keep being loyal and obeying your parents, and im sure you'll gain enough trust for them to buy you a new camera. you can't upload pics from disposable camras onto the computer .i have a digital camra so it doesn't apply to me really. but also alot of my pics are from my phone...which works too. im sure most people have a camra phone.. |

There are actually quite a lot of people in the U.S. and other countries that still do have digital camera, cell phones, or scanners. They're not quite as ubiquitous as you seem to think. |

Ebony is right about this. We just got a printer/scanner last month....our first one, too! We just got a digital camera and computer last year, and we are still trying to figure out how to use them all correctly! AND our cell phone is the older kind with NO camera on it, BOL! We are WAY behind the times of today, it seems! Our typist is not a kid, either, but an oldie....haha....(no offense mom)....so we all know how difficult it sometimes is to get pics on a site. BUT, that still does not give any one permission to steal another Pet's pics! No matter what the reason is, it is still not okay to do that! |

We got our first computer in 96, upgraded in 2000, and just got a brand new one this christmas. Then the first cell phone my family bought was in 2001 and it was virtually just good for calling people and nothing else, we upgraded last summer only. Cameras we upgrade often since typist is into photography, but we're not all technology savy either :P |

I agree with Lady Keesie as well and Chatterbox. On Dogster, someone stole my beloved Shatzi's pic and claimed it as their own. I was furious. Thankfully, Dogster HQ deleted the person's acoount. Stealing photos is not okay. |

i agree its pretty wrong to steal someone pictures. if you dont have a dog or just like one you see you just dont steal the picture. either way its still stealing and its wrong. if someone stoled my dogs pics i'd be pretty upset. |
