Behr
Ah no..

So today mommy took me to the Vet's because I was skinnier than usual and I wasn't my old playful self! Later than, I found out I had Parvo. But the vet seemed to think the family's not gone thru dogs with Parvo; He kept saying, "You know he might not survive, right?" and/or "You know this is most common to puppies, right?". Pretty much irritated mommy, mostly reminded her of the old days. We had later gone to an ER (Emergency Room) but the cost for the night and Monday morning was about $2000. My mom's momma refused to place me in that hospital for the night due to salary problems, so they took me home with little meds for me to take. Although the vets and interns didn't recommend it, they took me home anyway.

When I was boughten, my old owner had the papers saying I already had my parvo shots. My mom's mom didn't believe that. Which is probaly another reason why she's a little tired from all of this; Shamu and Willlie had parvo when they were puppies, as well. They had worse syptoms than me but yet survived the trageic illness. Hopefully I can survive this, as well and live to see the days.

Hopeing I can make it through, my mom's not focused on anything other than me right now. She instantly cried when she heard I had parvo because she knew everything there would be when a dog had parvo. Please pray, my mom doesn't even think she can make it through to school.

I'm so sorry that you have parvo. The past puppies all died from Parvo. When they died we didn't get any dogs until 6 months. for those 6 months we bleached the back yard for 3 and waited for it to go away. Then mom got me.

Rest In Peace Harley
Mom knows what your mom feels like. When I started not feeling myself, mom could only concentrate on me as well. Then when my tongue was pale, she called the vet and made another appointment, I died before I made it to the vet. Your a very strong puppy, you CAN get through this.

All I can say is just spend as much time with Behr as possible....you might want to seperate him from the other pets, they could catch it too.....or thats what I thought. Remember when you told me about Joey having those "issues"? maybe Behr caught the parvo from HIM x-x; I don't know, could be. I don't want to worry you any more than you already are. But it's just a possibility. Allie caught parvo after I was at the pound looking for another dog...she was only 1, and she made it through, I know a few dogs that have made it through parvo and if Allie, Willie, and Shamu can, I am sure Behr can.

Keep an eye out for him as much as possible, and just be positive and hope he will make it ok.

Adult dogs are less likely to get it. Make sure that he doesn't have intense bloody diarrhea. Just look on the bright side of things. He can feel if you are sad and that might put him down a little. Just comfort him. That's what mom did with Harley.

pippy loves the champ
i am so sorry to hear that about your doggie i really am i wish and pray for the best for your puppy   but i do know this tho   to ease with this infection with parvo  can occur in any unvaccinated  (maybe misspelled) dogs. parvo can be brought in the home to your dogs by shoes , hands and even car tires.  the parvo disease can be killed with chlorine  bleach.  also  dog or puppies can get the virus no matter if they leave the yard  parvo is NOT a airborne virus  it is excreated  in the feces of infected dogs, and if someone anyone   human dog bird etc.. step in ( come in contact with) the excrement the chances of getting your pet it is great.  i just saying this so if you have any other doggies or puppys

Thanks, again, everyone. I'm keping an eye on him as possible.

Jake: When did I say Joey had "issues"? I don't recall ever saying anything about that. And plus Behr's an outside dog. Which is the probaly, maybe so but yet in my mind yes, the reason why he has parvo. And yeah, he's been seperated from Abella and Joey and the others. Nothing's ringing a bell about Joey having "issues", though.

I do recall you stating Joey was vomiting and a few other things....It could've been my own imagination....

OH. That. But later on, we had found out Joey's stomach was just empty. He hadn't eaten food that day. Maybe loss of appetite. But he got fine later. o:
