I didn't necessarily think New Years was all about putting on hats and leis especially since I don't like all that stuff on me so I did the next best thing and did my one and only trick I know how to do. It might not have been much but it made my Mommy smile and that was important. She came up a cute line to go with it so that should go along with it as well. At least it was a NEW picture not the same old picture being used all the time. I agree with others who say they don't understand this point thing and why you get penalized for choosing who you want. When I go on to vote I always get the same 20 pictures to vote on and hardly ever get and others to vote on. Up in the rand hand corner it usually read like 1550 matches and I only get maybe 75 out of those so where are the other 1450? I hardly ever get to see Sage or any of my other fam if they have been entered. Since there seems to be this conflict, we are just gonna withdraw my picture it probably wasn't getting any votes anyway.

It ends tonight...lets just vote for the pets with great new years pictures wether the community agrees or not. The only reason you should be voting with the community is to beat the top streak, and it's very unlikely someone will beat 102 in a row today xD Sooo just get out there and vote for the deserving! :)

I am a little confused too. the desciption of the contest states : Maybe your pets are not party animals ;) .. but maybe they can still celebrate with some funky glasses, hats, and glitter?. I took that as pets celebrating new years but thats not what I see. I understand that not everyone dresses up thats why I did not enter the contest but I see alot of laying or sitting around nothing related to new years at least have a background thats festive. I am not trying to start eny argues these are just my opinions. good luck to everyone and have a great 2008!!!

Dude, there was this one picture that was New Year's themed all the way, and the other picture was just a simple cat. I clicked on the New Year's one, and it said "Community disagrees" WTF????

I know! That happens to me all the time, and it is getting on my nerves!!!

What is up with entering pictures that don't even fit into the theme! Gah! I'm going to scream!!!!!!!!!!

Is anyone else on here confused why it is that we get points for agreeing with the majority and punished if we choose the not so popular pet? I don't understand how voting can be fair when you have a choice between voting for points and voting for who you feel is cuter, or more more fitting to the theme. I don't come on here to vote often because I feel it's unfair. I check in from time to time to see how my friends are doing and promote service dogs. I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and to say thanks for the support to my friends!

I dont think New Year pics are all about putting up decorations and wearing silly hats!
You can do that on birthdays... Maybe in my pic it doesna show like its New Years Morning... but atleast its unique because tho it was ages ago, my family always went up 2 my Gran's for First Footing, we'd stay up till 4.00am and celebrate the fact that its a New Year... not put decorations around....
And if you enter a pic with lotsa decorations and a banner tht says Happy New Year... tht proves you did it for this contest!

Atleast mine shows a real Happy NEw year Party, at my gran's... having a laugh together and listening to the classic 'Auld Lang Syne'...(Mayb not all in tht one pic but thats really wat happened), we're all enjoying each others company and having a good time!

So its not all about if the picture has decoration to look like its New Years...
(And im just bk from my Auntie's, from our Annual party :P )

Alot of pets like me do go out of our way to make a nice, festive photo. Getting points for winning is almost as if you're getting a reward for all of the hard work that you put into takiing the picture.

Well thats all good... but as you prob have noticed im Dead! so its kinda hard for my typist to get a good Festive pic of me!
So I dont want any1 critisizing my photo cuz theres nothing WRONG with it, and believe me I've seen WORSE...
And some ppl do work hard on photos for a contest.. but then there are some people who vote just for really cute, clear pics or if its their friend.

Also, i think we should vote based on if the user even tried to make the picture fit the theme. (not including picture captions!) I tend to look at it this way, i pretend that i was looking at the picture without it being surronded by other new years photos and without a caption. Would i say "Yup this belongs to a new years pet gallery!" or not?
