What Is Your Dog Trying To Tell You
Submitted by pebbles on 05 May, 2008 | Report
Some dogs, in particular some breeds, are prone to anxiety and stress problems especially when it comes to being separated from their owners. This is more than just an annoying habit the dog needs to learn to correct, this is actually a very serious emotional and behavioral problem that dogs can develop that may lead to the dog needing to be put down if it cannot be managed.

I agree with you almost 100 % Sadie.
A furend of mine had a lab x that had such severe separation anxiety that he wouldn't go to the bathroom unless my friend was standing right there next to him, and he had it so bad that he managed to chew apart his kennel that she kept him in wheile she was at work. Unfortunately, My friend put him down after he chewed apart his kennel.

my mama knows all about separation anxiety...
I HAVE IT !! It drives mama nuts sometimes, whenever I can see mama leaving out the door, I start whinning, and sometimes when she leaves for work, I make a mess outa her bedroom { thats where I stay when mama is gone } I get so nervous being alone, but Mama started leaving the radio on for me, just so I don't feel so alone, and its been working great, I've only had 2 mental breakdowns since mama started leaving the music playing for me !!

Agree Sadie! It's just like putting a human to sleep for having separation anxiety.

Sadie Liebe
It's not just particular in some breeds, it can be in every breed, mutt or not. Sadie has seperation anxiety and we had to crate her because she was tearing up things, but we do try and work with her. We leave her home for short amounts of times and if she doesn't wreck anything while we're gone, we praise her and give her lots of loving! I dont understand why you would put a dog to sleep for having seperation anxiety? That part of your post just doesn't make sense!
